Five Fab Frugal Finds

  1. Goodwill Rewards Cards- as I understand it, not every state has these, and the program varies from one state to another.  In South Carolina, for instance, you get one point for every dollar, and when you get to 250 points, you get 25% off your next purchase, plus some other special offers.  Wisconsin offers five points per dollar, and the points can be used for in-store specials.  More here.
  2. In the market for something specific that may be too hard to find used?  Check out these Black Friday deals.
  3. Thousands of libraries are now loaning Kindle books for free. Even without the library, you can borrow kindle books, or read them for free, whether or not you have one of these. You can download a free Kindle app to your computer or iPhone and read Kindle books that way.
  4. Speaking of the Kindle app, I've got a great list of devotional reading for the Kindle that's free or nearly free- nothing much more than 2 or 3 dollars.  What an age we live in, where with the press of a button and the price of a cup of coffee you can own over 50 works by George MacDonald, who inspired C. S. Lewis.
  5. You've got to check out this easy but classy looking decorated candle. These would make wonderful gifts, and it's very easy to change the style to make one suitable for your boss, and one suitable for Grandma.  The only purchased items (for me) were the waxed paper and the candle, and I stock up on those at thrift shops. I think I paid about .10 each for the candles I used.
