Frugal Garland

Requirements:
Cranberries or rosehips (rosehips are free, if you have enough wild roses around, cranberries are convenient)
Citrus fruit such as limes or lemons. Limes were .20 a piece.
Needle and thread or dental floss. We have some old coarse cotton thread on hand.

Slice the citrus fruit fairly thin. Sew cranberries and citrus fruit slices together. Hang the garland up wherever you like. It will dry over time. My daughter Pip made this one, and she hung it up on our sunroom, where we have a fire in the wood stove three mornings out of seven this time of year, so it's very dry.

Optional: once dried, spray with adhesive and dust with glitter.

You could also turn the citrus wheels so they face out to make the strand wider without adding more fruit.  This will work better if your thread is a light color that blends in well with the fruit.

Never thought of citrus slices – they look so pretty! We always did plain popcorn growing up too. That is REALLY frugal.

Cute, and should smell wonderful as well while it’s drying :) Costco usually sells a large bag of fresh cranberries this time of year — it would be perfect for this!
