More Ways of Bringing In a Bit of Emergency Cash

Find a resale niche you like and understand, and watch for things to resell on ebay, etsy, or bookselling lists.  There are certain books in homeschooling circles that have a high resale value.

Look for things you already own that you can sell.

Barter-  french braid hair, proofread, clean a house, bake bread, sit with an elderly family member, babysit, design a website, provide transportation, pet sit, walk a dog, sew.... these are a few things I have known people to trade for cash or another service.

Take part in university studies or consumer focus groups. You usually get cash, for the consumer study groups you might get cash or a gift card, and you can use the gift card for something you would otherwise have had to pay cash for.

Sell blood or plasma.  I know, I know, it sounds a bit icky.  But if you really need some cash, this may be something you can do, and it helps others as well.

This website might help you find a center near you: http://www.pptaglobal.org/plasma/find.aspx.

Call first to find out the requirements and the pay.  You can also google selling plasma to find out more.

if I needed money to dig out of debt, I wouldn’t hesitate to sell, even my plasma. These days, even though we have no debt, I’m focusing on having fewer needs…wanting less, thus spending less. As prices will only keep rising, I think this will become ever more important!

My husband and I sold plasma for quite awhile. It was a pretty quick and easy way to raise a decent amount of cash.

My brother’s son sold his plasma for years for his ‘extra’ money while in college at A&M. I thought that was a great idea.
Nothing is wrong or even icky about it. It is an honest way to make a dollar and it does help other people.

Return deposit recycling (in Canada there is a deposit where I live even for milk containers) for $10-30, roll change (we always have change jars going), offer to shovel snow for $, works best if you go door to door in neighborhoods where seniors reside, babysit, sell unwanted goods on kijiji, craigslit, hold a garage sale, clean someones house for $
