Pumpkins and More

Posted by: DeputyHeadmistress on Friday, October 15th, 2010

What's in my hand this week:
Pumpkins- Our son-in-law brought us three or four pie pumpkins when they were on sale at the store where he works, and then friends brought us four or five pie pumpkins from the last of their garden.

What we'll do with them:
Bake them, scrape out the insides, and freeze them for:
soups
muffins
pies

Lamb- a friend butchered their lambs and sold us one. What we'll do with it:
Freeze it and use it for stews and curries, and lentils and lamb.

Acorns and brightly colored fall leaves- all over in our woods.
What we'll do with them:
Fall decorations in baskets, vases, and bowls

A few days off for our oldest daughter still at home.
What we'll do with them: Repaint our youngest daughter's bedroom.

Sunny windows and pots of soil.
What we'll do with them: Plant lettuce seeds for baby lettuce salads

Amazon.com gift cards from Swagbucks
What I'll do with them:

The internet. What I'll do with it:
Discover listings of some Amish markets in a few different states

Find Sources for raw milk and grass-fed meats in your area.

Take an e-course

Learn more about many topics that interest me.

My family.
What I'll do with them: Cherish them.

What about you? What's in your hand?

Topics: misc.
