Find unclaimed money
I've never paid much attention to the idea that I could have unclaimed money out there in the wide world, but when Jim at Bargaineering posted links to search all 50 states for free it was just too easy to take a quick look.
After checking both states where hubby and I have lived as adults, I actually did find a small forgotten savings account!
It wasn't much money, but I was encouraged and amused so I checked on behalf of my parents. I found a few dollars an old employer owed my dad, too. And my uncle has some money from a check he never cashed - I don't know how much. And my late grandmother has nearly $100 that her heirs can claim. Apparently a lot of people do!
Take a few moments to search the states where you and your spouse have lived as adults. Remember to check maiden names as well. Did you find anything?

I some good friends who find money like this as their JOB. They take a small percent of the found money for their payment. They are licensed private detectives. They have found millions of dollars for people. Companies too have money in accounts that are no longer active. I am amazed at some of the amounts. Thanks for reminding people that they should look into the matter. Roxie

I checked a few months ago and didn’t find anything for myself, but did find my mom in an old state with a listing of less than $10. Every bit helps!

I did this 14 months ago and found $138 for myself. Well, yesterday after seeing your post I checked again and found unclaimed money for my parents! My folks were super excited. I wish someone would leave a couple million dollars unclaimed for me to find!

Every little bit does count… especially when it’s yours to begin with!

This WOULD be an interesting and possibily profitable job for someone to locate these people, like Roxie says, and take a perecentage. I would be more interested to hearing about how they do this…

I’ve checked this out before on several occasions and never found anything. I decided to see if fate had a different hand for me this time, and to my surprise, I had $98.50 in “unclaimed” money

I heard of this some years ago and checked myself. None for me out there. But I did find that my dad had several hundred in a forgotten account. It took a while to claim it because he had to dig up proof that he owned the business, but he eventually got his money.
