Frugal Hack for Hand-me-down bike

Posted by: DeputyHeadmistress on Friday, September 25th, 2009

Our 13 year old daughter has outgrown her bike, and our 11 year old son was ready for an upgrade.

Problem: her bike was a light purple with pink and yellow flowers all over it. That's just not cool.
We do live in the country, and he mostly rides his bike from our house to Grandma's house or to see his new nephew, but still. IT's hard on a boy's ego to ride a pink and purple bike.

Solution: The Boy came up with this one- he found a can of black spray paint in the garage and asked if he could paint the bike.

We have a winner for our give-away last week- B. Durbin!!

I am very slow announcing it because in the meantime, my first grandson was born- I got to be there for the entire labor, and it was quite an experience!

If you look in the sidebar (scroll down) on the right side of my family blog, you can the new grandson's sweet little face.
