Baby Wipes, Shower Gift and Fun Giveaways
Most of us have heard about how to make our own baby wipes (if not, try this tutorial, and this basic recipe is also good starting place)
But this frugal recipe has another use as well. Years back there was a lady at a church we attended who always gave home-made baby wipes as a gift. She made a batch of the wipes, putting them in a square tupperware or rubbermaid container as part of her gift. Then she included the remainder of the bottles of baby wash and oil she used. Finally (and to my mind, the best part), she included a written copy of the recipe with a cost estimate of how much it cost to make the wipes vs how much it cost to buy them. She also included an estimate of how many diaper wipes a typical family would use over the course of a year and how much that would cost for store-bought vs home-made wipes.
It was a popular gift- and people especially enjoyed seeing the cost break-down for how much money they were saving using home-made wipes.
We're thinking a lot about baby things around here because our second daughter and her husband are expecting their first child any day now (due date was the fifteenth).
