when people move out they leave alot of things next to the dumpster, useful and good things. I moved and left a shelf unit, it was in my bathroom, I thought I would buy something new for my new place, So it was picked up right away, and I was glad. fast forward; I'd been to 3 stores, Target/KMart and Bed & Bath, taking notes of sizes and prices and waiting for coupons. I went back to my old place to get my last mail; and lo and behold I saw a shelf unit kind of what I wanted. I was praying it was the right measurement...the closer I got, I started laughing, it was my "old" shelf unit I'd left a 8 days before. But it was perfect, I painted it 2 coast of white, and it looks beautiful in my new place. What goes around ~comes around! ha ha

I read that during WWII when metal was in short supply and razor blades were not available that women use to use sandpaper to remove hair from their legs. I went to the hardware store and got the finest one they sold (used for polishing cars. I have to tell you it works and it actually exfoliates the legs at the same time.

I shave my legs with shampoo instead of buying shave gel or using plain old soap. It works great! And, it's a lot cheaper, because I stock up on cheap or free shampoo by stacking coupons!

I didn't want to dunk and swish the pooy diapers, but didn't want to spend the $$$ for a diaper sprayer to hook onto the toilet.
In my bath tub we have a shower head hose thing that comes down so we can rinse kids hair and stuff. It has a massage sprayer on it.
So I use a 3 gallon bucket with the massage sprayer, hold the diaper in the bucket spray the poop into the bucket. Throw the diaper in the diaper pail, dump the icky water down the toilet.
A little more work than having a sprayer on the toilet let, but it's functional and FREE. Gotta love that.

Not exactly frugal, but my husband was keeping a neighbor's child once while we had a mom's day out, and had to change a diaper. He wore his full chemical gas mask to do it.

Oh, and I once had a sagging muffler while out and about, and the only thing I had to tie it up until we could get to a repair place was my daughter's bright pink sash.=)

We were trying to remove vinyl flooring in our kitchen and I tried to use a blow dryer to soften it up to make it easier to scrape up. Well, we ended up needing a blow torch and it was still difficult! My family still teases me about this one!

I don't have a truck and we were renovating our house. I moved literally tons of plaster and wooden lathes in the back of my Hyundai Accent hatchback.
Largest load was about 550lbs.
Cheaper than renting a dumpster or buying a truck. And I always got a laugh from the people at the dump.
