What To Do With All Those Baby Samples?
I admit it, I'm a freebie addict. I love samples! I'm not a glutton: I only request or take samples that I think I'll use. With all the baby freebies out there, it's easy to end up with an excess of little packets of soap, lotion, wipes, formula and more. Sometimes, lovely little unrequested samples even show up in my mailbox (probably from those baby mailing lists I'm on). I'm not into creating waste, and I want to use what I have, so here's a list of how to best use all those baby samples:
- Pack an emergency diaper bag: Put all of those little extras in the bag to store in your trunk. Haven't we all had those times when we wished we had remembered to restock the diaper bag before leaving the house?
- Give samples to Grandma and Grandpa to have at their house: When you visit you always have a little bit of everything you need!
- Use them when you travel: We all know the liquid limit when traveling by air, so use those sample sizes instead of picking up trial-sized items or small containers. Don't even think about buying stuff after you arrive! Pack everyting in a zipper bag you're ready to go.
- Use them in your own diaper bag: I pack the small samples of diaper rash cream and it's come in handy at the museum when diaper rash seemed to appear out of nowhere!
- Just use them: Sometimes it's just so hard to remember what you have before replenishing your supply. Tape your sample packet to the economy-sized jug of baby shampoo that you always use so you don't forget you have it.
- Donate: Especially now, at this time in our economy, nearly every shelter or food shelf absolutely needs any new products they can get their hands on. Drop off your unopened packages and bless someone else with your excess.
How do you use your sample-sized items?

I send them to the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. At Christmas, I must have sent about 200 samples. To find out where to send them, just ask in your groups who has family over there and you can send to them to forward, or send it yourself. You have to fill out a custom’s form but the people at the post office are very helpful.

That was very good tips. I always give the baby samples to an orphanage nearby. Feels nice to see them happy.
