Similar shoes sell for over $200 now, and don't last as long as they are no longer made the same way. I wear the shoes at least 4 times a week. Whatever way you look at it, I came out ahead based on my initial investment. Thats frugality. Frugality may not always mean spending less money. My daughter always wanted to know why I wouldn't buy her nailpolish, but would send her away to camp. I told her that I used my money on things I thought were worth it.
