HI
just started looking at your site...great tips. I live in Las Vegas, so I cannot say that chickens are an option for me, but I love the idea of being a good steward. One thing I always do before we leave town is go to restaurant.com. You can punch in the zipcode you are going to (it is a nationwide site) and get $25 gift certificates for between $3-$10, (they have $50 and $100 certificates available too)depending on the sale they have going on. I sign up to get their e-mails which always alert me to their coupon codes. It saves us tons of $ as we have to eat out while traveling.

Also if you get a museum membership for your family ask if it also covers national reciprocal museums. The museum I worked out had reciprocal agreements with state museums but also belonged to a national group for Science museums and we gave people a list of NATIONAL museums they got reciprocal admission to. Also we had a free night once a month for people to come in and see the museum.
