These sort of items are also great to send to service members overseas…..shampoo, baby wipes, and the like can really make you feel human after a few days sweating in the “sandbox” heat!

Things like that can make great stocking stuffers too–I thought my Mom was crazy when I was younger, but now I really appreciate not having to buy deodorant or toothpaste for a while!

You are so right. Also they can be donated as gifts the same way to nursing homes, hospice care and local Santa’s Helper type programs. Even food pantries like the Salvation Army can use those items. You know food stamps help some people but do not buy these important items. I am glad you use your frugal sense and pass on these true gifts.

I do this too! I have two neices who have just moved into their first apartments and they are getting baskets of what you mentioned above. It’s a great idea as they are so focused on just making rent! I love your idea of the little notes!
