DIY Frugal Halloween Decor
Next to eating candy and wearing costumes, Halloween decorating is my favorite part of this time of year. It can be quite expensive though. Here are a few DIY ideas for simple halloween decorations that we've done this year.

A tall jar full of coffee beans with some ribbon tied around it and scrapbook paper letters is quick and easy. I also filled some small mason jars with candy corn. Easy and yummy too!

Spray paint some baby pumpkins white to shake things up a bit. I tried this two ways. Put two next to some flowers growing in a terracotta pot (which are fabulously inexpensive and perfect this time of year because of their color). Then I tried putting one in a terracotta pot.

I'm not sure how much I love that but it's kinda cute.

My daughter painted a paper mache pumpkin orange. Fun and easy and cheap project for kids. I placed it with a small wooden birdcage that I spray painted white and a basket full of pinecones from the backyard.

Then I replaced the paper mache pumpkin with a real pumpkin. I am not allowed to carve pumpkins for the safety of my fingers so I pushed upholstery tacks in this one all the way around for a little decorative flair.

My daughter liked that idea so she put some tacks in hers too

This was actually a creation by my daughter trying to frighten monsters away from her room, but it's perfect for this time of year!

We did something similar to the jars of candy corn but instead, we put foil-covered eyeballs in an old jar and set it on the table. The eyeballs are really cheap and we plan on giving them out on Halloween anyway. The trick is to line the eyeballs up so they are looking out!
