Hello to Frugal Hacks readers! Frugal Hacks is getting a few new contributors to add to its wealth of knowledge and insight and I was honored that Kim asked me to be one of them.
My name is Jaimie and I blog under the handle "paidtwice" at I've Paid For This Twice Already... I started my blog to chronicle my family's journey out of significant 5 figure debt that was slowly destroying our financial future. Over the course of the past year, we've worked hard to figure out how not only to live within our means, but to exceed our own expectations as far as what we can do with our money and resources. Through learning how to be frugal as well as increasing our household income, we've eliminated over $20,000 of debt and hopefully will be out of non-mortgage debt by mid 2009. I am a self-professed lover of all things numbers, and spend a lot of time on my blog dissecting expenses, playing games with numbers, and basically analyzing how most efficiently we can get out of debt.
Here at Frugal Hacks, I'll be contributing every Thursday on two separate yet related topics, which I will generally alternate between. One is Frugal Money Management, and relates to my love of all things numbers. I'll analyze household budgets, dissect everyday expenses, and basically try to share some of the ways we've learned to become frugal. I won't necessarily show you the cheapest way to do anything, because I truly believe that being frugal and being cheap are two separate things. But I'll share the compromises we've come to between making the easy choice and making the frugal choice. The other is Beyond Money, which is all about frugal uses of all things past money. Time, resources, space, and other topics not directly related to money fall under this topic, and I am thrilled to explore them.
I'm excited to be a contributor here and look for my posts on Thursdays! If you want to keep up to date with everything Frugal Hacks, consider subscribing to the Frugal Hacks RSS feed. You are also welcome to subscribe to my finance blog's feed as well if what I say interests you. See you on Thursdays!
