Frugal Homemaker Plus Says Hello!

I just wanted to take a second to introduce myself.  I'm honored to have the opportunity to contribute to Frugal Hacks.  I've long admired the contributors here, followed their personal blogs, and have been inspired and encouraged by their gracious examples of frugality.  I hope I give even a small amount of the encouragement that has bestowed upon me by the wonderful writers on this blog.

I'm Catherine and I run Frugal Homemaker Plus.   While I've always been thrifty, my purposeful journey into frugality began in college when I wanted to live alone my senior year.  After I got married, we (BAM!) took it up a notch so we could survive on the ludicrously small amount of money we were earning. We quickly saw the fruit of our labor and realized how much freedom frugality could buy us.  We were hooked.

I started my blog in 2005 to chronicle our frugality journey.  I never dreamed that so many others shared our vision and was thrilled to see that we were not alone.  I viewed blogging as a conversation with the world at large, and I was excited that so many other people had such valuable things to say.

Starting next week, I'll be blogging on Tuesdays on Frugal Hacks.  There will be exciting links!  There will be discussion on subjects near and dear to my heart- frugality when you're single and frugality for childless couples.  I look forward to sharing this information with you and hope to see you then!

Hurray! I’m exciting to read tips from others who aren’t parents. Not that I have anything against parent bloggers, it’s just that my kid is a dog. :) So there are some things like how to save on school supplies that don’t apply to me.
