As I enjoyed the aroma of muffins once again today, your post captured many of my own thoughts. Your eloquence struck a chord, prompting me to mention this piece in a recent post. Well said!

If one person on every street in our busy world stopped to read this email what a happier place our earthly home would be.
Luckily for my family (both immediate and extended), I consider myself one of these happy people.
Thankyou God for the gift of 'serenity'. Yesterday, our children had the day off school.
We walked up the street to collect their best friends and had a wonderful day climbing trees, walking the family dog, baking in preparation for a massive Mother's Day celebration & simply enjoying each other's company.

Great post! When I think back to my own childhood, it is the simple things that I cherish and remember. Sometimes, I forget that with my own child. Thanks for the reminder.

This is so true! Thanks for the reminder that it's so easy to put a positive spin on something that can seem so mundane!

What an absolutely wonderful and peaceful post.
I find so much joy in many of the things that you write and want to thank you again for your "Be Still and Listen" post which day to day I practice.

Wonderful! It is the simple things and quiet routines that bring the greatest rewards - good character and life lasting achievements that come one little step at a time.

Our small home, which is more affordable than our previous one, has a large deck off the side, which my husband repaired and added a rail and child gate to for safety. I turn the kids out on the deck in warm weather and watch them from the kitchen table, where I sip on morning coffee or afternoon tea. My kids are with me, and life is peaceful. I really enjoy those moments.

We like to hike as a family, and swim in a lake we can walk to from our home. None of these things cost anything, and they are more renewing and healthy for our family than a trip to an amusement park. Seriously ... ads lie. ;)
