I am a single 30 year old male trying to get out of debt.
When did you start blogging? Why do you blog?
I officially started blogging in June of 2007. I'd been reading other blogs and I was intrigued by the idea of posting my finances anonymously for the world to see. I liked peeking into other peoples finances so I figured people might get a kick out of peeking into mine.
How did you come up with your blog title?
I'm a single guy blogging about money so the name fit perfectly.
Why be frugal?
It is important to be sure to save a little for the future. If you get $10 today and spend $10, you have 0 for tomorrow. If an emergency comes up tomorrow, you won't have the funds to handle it. Failure to be frugal can lead to being broke and in debt.
What do you know about your readers? What do you think draws them to your blog?
I think I get alot of readers who are single and in debt and are looking for some advice. I think my readers like the fact that I "put it all out there" by posting detailed numbers instead of general numbers or percentages.
Do you have a favorite frugal site?
My favorite frugal website is fatwallet.com. I can find the latest deals and advice on something I am planning to purchase.
Do you have any frugal heroes or role models?
My Grandfather was my frugal hero. He never bought anything he could not pay cash for. He was very upset with me when I bought my first car and financed the entire purchase.
Do you have any closing remarks?
I'd like my readers to think about every purchase they make; no matter how small. It all adds up and has an impact on your financial future. You can't retire on material things and you don't have to "Keep up with the Joneses. "
