Leftover meat loaf is great in chili, rice can be added to chili also. Beans, and scrambled eggs for breakfast burritos. Mashed potatoes added to cream soups, or add green onions, flour, eggs and cheese for really good potato pancakes. Leftover veggies, add to pizza or run through the food processor and add to tomato or V-8 juice, can also be used in gravy. Hash browns or homefires are good on top of casseroles, or add to omelets. Fruits can be added to pancakes or make smoothies, fruit juice is a nice change in Jello instead of just water, same goes for pudding. I just made some biscuits with leftover veggies and cheese, really nice in this cold weather.
I sound like a leftover queen, but we were never allowed to waste food when I was young and guess that has always stayed with me.

We cook everything from scratch so most of our food is "ingredients". It is either bought in bulk (so it lasts years and years) or it is something that can be fed to the chickens or composted if it ends up in our fridge past it's prime. Not buying processed food is one of the easiest ways to have no food waste!
