Cheerful Frugality Makes The Most Of Things

Kim from Starry Sky Ranch has been writing about hard choices and (not) doing it all:

Whatever circumstances you have been gifted with strive to make the most of them. If you have a home, take really good care of it. Many people are not so lucky. It may not be a mansion but for this time, now, it is yours.

The whole post is worth a careful read, especially the closing.   Her words on maintenance speak to those of us seeking a frugal lifestyle as much as they do to homeschoolers.

Cheerful frugality is not just a state of being content.  It's a willingness to do the most with what we have.

What do you hold dear?  What do you do to make it last a little longer?

I get really sad when I think how badly I abused the stuff I had growing up. I didn’t care for anything of my own and my parents never understood why I was like that. My room was always in shambles, my belongings were never taken care of- maybe because I hadn’t paid for any of it?

Now I really care about the things I have. I am surprised how long we are able to maintain things and to make the most of them. It is all about the attitude you have and the investment you have made into your things.
