The Great Pumpkin
Today I am going to the pumpkin patch with my son and his class. Unfortunately, the weather predictions have been calling for cold and rain so it is certainly not the ideal weather I had hoped for. He is so excited though and has been looking forward to this for months now. I still feel like a child when I go to the pumpkin patch so I am just as enthusiastic as he is!
In the true spirit of fall and all things pumpkin, here are some fun pumpkin links for your enjoyment. I can't wait to see what we do with our pumpkins this year and I hope these links will inspire you to try something different and new this year!

I love baking this time of year, and these pumpkin recipes are two of my favorites: http://ponderedinmyheart.blogspot.com/2007/10/vintage-pumpkin-patch_08.html

I also decorate with fake pumpkins early, then buy a real one closer to the end of the month. Here’s how I’ve used the fake pumpkins:

The last few years, our pumpkins have rotted before they could be reused for anything good…even when we delay the carving until a couple of days before Halloween.
We get twice the entertainment out of our pumpkin by taking it to a “Pumpkin Chunking” at the science museum. Local physics students put the pumpkins in a giant trebuchet and send them flying. It’s a lot of fun to watch!
