A tour of Frugal Hacks
Since we have so many new readers here at Frugal Hacks, I thought it might be helpful to give a brief tour so that you can get the most out of your visits here.
THE CONTENT, FROM US TO YOU - Frugal Hacks currently has 6 contributors who each post weekly:
- Monday: Meredith of Like Merchant Ships posts on Cheerful Frugality.
- Tuesday: Amy of MotherLoad: the MomAdvice.com Blog shares tips on frugal entertainment.
- Wednesday: Janel Messenger of Pearls talks about Out of the Box Frugality.
- Thursday: Showcase of Frugal Bloggers, in which I (KimC) interview a new Frugal Blogroll member each week.
- Friday: The Deputy Headmistress of the Common Room discusses What's in my hand?
- Saturday: Crystal serves up a Saturday Savings Smorgasbord, full of great deals and tips on getting the most out of coupons, sales and rebates.
Also watch for additional posts on a variety of topics, including reader submitted tips on frugal living (your own frugal hacks). If you have a great idea to share, click the Submit Your Hack button at the top of the page.
TOOLS FOR YOU:
- The Frugal Blogroll: On the left, we have the Frugal Badge and the Frugal Blogroll. This is a list of over 100 frugal blogs, each of which displays either the list or the badge on their own blog. If you often blog on the topic of frugal living, you are welcome to join. You can find the rules and instructions at the Join Here link near the top of the blogroll.
Recently updated blogs will appear at the top of the list, so you can see at a glance who has been busy blogging lately. - Feeds: On the right, you can find feeds to help you follow Frugal Hacks more easily. After all, you want to be frugal with your time as well as your money, right?
You can either add Frugal Hacks to your favorite blog reader, or choose to receive it by email via feedburner. Don't worry - we will never spam you or give away or sell your email address. - The Frugal Search: On the right, below the feeds you'll see the Frugal Search Engine. This is a custom google-powered search engine, hand-coded by yours truly to search over 600 frugal blogs (and growing!), bringing back all the relevant results and none of the million other results that you didn't want to see in the first place.
Try it; you'll like it! If you love it, feel free to grab the code and add the search box to your blog for your readers to use.
WAYS FOR YOU TO HELP:
- Comment: Please, leave a comment! Your input is valuable to us and to other readers, and it's good for you own blog as well since readers will want to know what else you have to say. Even if you don't have something new to add to the discussion, it's nice to give others a pat on the back and tell them, "Great idea!"
- Join the Frugal Blogroll: As the blogroll grows, each member receives more publicity because of all the other members displaying the blogroll.
- Submit your own frugal hack: If you have a great idea, share it here. We can all learn something new from each other!
- Spread the word: If you enjoy Frugal Hacks, tell others about it.
- Speak up: Do you have any suggestions to make Frugal Hacks better? Let us know in the comments!

Yes, I *really* like that feature, too, Kim.
It rewards those bloggers who post frequent and fresh content. I hate to see a blogroll full of dead links.
