My Grandfather used to save "blinks" on the car by turning off the turn signal half way through the intersection! God bless him! My Dad also still cuts the front flap off Christmas cards (the part with the picture) and re-uses them as gift tags the following year. The later is a little too frugal for me. It was a *very* delicate task. She lived with us and wasn't accustomed to my mother's love of paper towels--couldn't stand to throw something away after one use.
