I totally agree with you about brunch. It can be very affordable. It is a good time to have friends with kids over (we don't have kids yet) because it usually doesn't interfere with naps yet. Best of all, I am not as tired. I do the cleaning and the cooking the night before and go to bed. I am not such a night owl and sometimes at night it can be hard to get your guests to leave!

a subject near and dear to this innkeeper's heart :) We do lots of brunches here... mid week as well. We typically start with fresh fruit and bread basket and depending on guest request... anything from eggs to Fish Creek Trout caught in our Fish Creek that a.m. :)

I like to serve brunch, too. I concentrate more on light lunch iems like a wrap bar, salads, and just serve a few breakfast items. Scrambled eggs, bagels, etc. We like to serve fresh made oj, carrot juice, and mimosas as well as coffee and flavored teas. I think that on the west coast we tend to eat more veggies and fruit for breakfast and less carbs. I do love pancakes and waffles, though. Thanks for the great ideas, Amy!

I do like brunches, as they bridge that lazy Saturday morning and simplify meal prep instead of breakfast and lunch.

I almost always make a crustless quiche with spinach or another green vegetable as part of the filling. You definitely need a protein option for people who can't eat all french toast, fruit, and cinnamon rolls! (You know, the good stuff.)

How fun! I have a friend who regularly invites other families over for breakfast. In addition to being frugal, it's often the time when children are best behaved. And it's much easier to coordinate social calendars on Saturday mornings than Saturday nights!

Thanks for all the great ideas!
