Save money: make it yourself

Posted by: kimc on Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Deborah lists 100 things you can make yourself. And 100 more. Which have you tried? Which would you be willing to try? Which ones do you think are over the top?

Can you name 10 surprising or unusual items that you have made? Here are ten of mine:

  1. English muffins
  2. Doughnuts
  3. Rabbit cages
  4. Tortillas
  5. Beer (yes, it's legal. you just can't sell it.)
  6. My daughter says I should mention that we built our house. Ourselves. It's not done yet.
  7. Bookshelves
  8. Picnic table
  9. Calendar (I laid out the photo collages in Photoshop, created the calendar itself on the Costco website and had them print it)
  10. Yogurt
  11. Children - oops, that's 11 items. Anyway, God made them.

I just looked at the title of the post again, and realized that it looks like “money” might be on the list of things to make. As in *counterfeiting.* Don’t worry, folks. If it were, I sure wouldn’t be tell y’all. Doing time in prison is not the savings plan I would choose.
